Easy Protein Pancakes
I LOVE PANCAKES!
When I was a little girl, I loved it when we had pancakes for dinner but the pancakes I ate as a child had very little protein in them. Just think about the traditional pancake… it is nothing but sugar and carbs.
Children need more protein than what most are getting. I know I didn’t get enough protein as a child.
Protein is essential for bone health. Most of our bones are built before age 18 and bones need a lot of protein! Yes, protein is key to building healthy bones. Check out THIS study; women with osteoporosis reversed bone loss by increasing protein! Not calcium, protein!
HOW TO MAKE EASY PROTEIN PANCAKES
My easy protein pancakes are not only awesome for all of you, but for your children! If you have children that are picky eaters and do not eat enough protein, make them these protein pancakes! Better yet, have your children make them! Yes, these pancakes are so easy, your children can make them! Kids are more likely to eat something new if they make it!
These easy protein pancakes are only 3 ingredients; eggs, gelatin and Equip protein powder!
What is fun about this pancake recipe is you can make it your favorite flavor! If you love strawberry, use strawberry Equip Prime Protein, if you love chocolate, use chocolate Equip and if you love peanut butter, make peanut butter pancakes with peanut butter Equip!
Equip Prime Protein powder is my favorite protein powder because it is dairy free and it is made from beef which is the most nutrient-dense food! I also love it because it tastes AMAZING! I am addicted to the strawberry!
Equip is so generous, they are offering 15% off when you use code MARIA!

Hi, I love getting your emails and recipes but can never print the recipes from my newer android phone, even tried different browsers etc.
Sorry, not sure what the problem could be.
Love a lot of your recipes but I use products I love already including protein powder. Can you give me a measurement for the protein powder? Instead of 1 scoop. Like in tablespoons or in a weight would be great, thanks
This recipe has only been tested using Equip beef isolate protein powder. It will not work the same with other protein powders. With that said, I am not sure what measurements would be needed for substitutions. But 1 scoop of Equip is roughly 1/3 cup (but not exactly).
Would this work with regular egg white protein powder instead of the Equip?
No. Egg white protein powder and Beef protein powder are very different. If you want to use egg white protein powder instead, I have a recipe in The Art of Fat Loss: https://keto-adapted.com/product/the-art-of-fat-loss/
Can you substitute vanilla collagen peptides or another protein powder like egg whites if you haven’t gotten Prime Protein yet?
Thanks,
Batb
I have a recipe using egg white protein powder in The Art of Fat Loss: https://keto-adapted.com/product/the-art-of-fat-loss/
Or, I have a collagen pancake recipe here: https://mariamindbodyhealth.com/protein-sparing-pancakes/
Thank you❤️
What sugar free syrup do you recommend?
This one: https://mariamindbodyhealth.com/pancake-syrup-2/
I’ve been making this for about 5 years now, same ingredients and proportions except the gelatin. I’ll have to try your version with the gelatin! Question, I know on most protein powders we don’t count the protein as they are not “complete” proteins. Does this beef protein isolate fall under the same rules or can we count the protein towards our daily goal? Thanks!
Beef Protein Isolate is a complete protein, so it counts towards your protein goal 🙂
Question: is the equip beef powder a complete protein? I’ve asked about using it for my pre workout and was told no that it was not good for that. Eating for pancakes how would that rank as a protein? Complete or not~TIA!
Yes, it is a complete protein and counts towards your daily protein goal 🙂
Love this recipe! My batter was a little thin so I made crepes out of this. Tastes just like the “real” thing! My new go-to!!
I’m so glad you like them!
I just made these and loved them! Thank you Maria!
That’s great! So glad you liked them ❤️
Maria, this is the best keto pancake recipe ever! I made it with the Further Peanut Butter Protein Powder and oh my goodness! I added the baking powder and whipped the batter pretty good in the food processor until it was thick. It made the fluffiest pancakes. Will never use almond flour again.
On a personal note, I am forever grateful that I found you early in my Keto journey. Thank you for all of your hard work. You are one in a million my dear girl (I am 73). And Your boys are so cute! Much respect and good wishes to you my friend.
You truly made my day Francine! 🙏❤️
Would the chocolate be ok as pancakes?
Absolutely! I’ve tried every flavor and they’re all wonderful 🙂
Is Keto Adapted more of a carnivore diet? I have been living the low carb life style for 9 years but find I am needing a change and opted for carnivore.
We follow an animal-based protein prioritized way of eating 🙂 Check out my Carnivore Package here: https://keto-adapted.com/product/carnivore-package-with-lifetime-access/
I would love to get this equip product, however, it is expensive. If I were to use the unflavored version or vanilla, could I just add cocoa powder or chocolate extract to make the chocolate pancakes? Same for strawberry? Could I use a strawberry extract or emulsion? Just wondering!
It would work as long as the base is beef protein isolate 🙂
These pancakes are delicious! Thank you for a wonderful recipe. At first look at the ingredients I thought they would be eggy… but they are not! I’m wondering if these would be considered carnivore?
They are level 4 carnivore 🙂
Can these be made ahead and reheated in a toaster or microwave?
Yes they can!
Can you use egg whites instead of eggs?
Can you make this recipe with egg whites instead of eggs? Thank you!
I haven’t tested this recipe without the yolks. Here is an excellent option that uses egg whites: https://mariamindbodyhealth.com/protein-sparing-pancakes/
These were amazing! Tasted like Crepes to me. OMG Thank you!
You made my day! 🥰
I am sorry of this was already asked but what if I don’t have the gelatin?
They won’t turn out fluffy like a pancake.
Hi Maria, I found this recipe by following Laura Spath. I have never purchased this product before, but plan to. My question is, could I purchase the unflavored variety and add vanilla? Have you ever tested it in that way or is there some reason the unflavored wouldn’t work as well.
Yes, you can do that 🙂
What is TS? (It would help some of us, who have no idea what these abbreviations are, if you could kindly let us know.) I tried to look it up, but it could be Tourette Syndrome, Tuberous Sclerosis, Toxic Shock, Transexual, Top Secret, or That S***. Anyway, way to go, Jozie!! You look great, and we are all so proud of you! What a miracle and a blessing. Thank you for sharing.
It was a client testimony and I do not edit or alter them. It means Turner Syndrome 🙏
10/10 recipe!!! So good can’t wait to feed it to my kids
I can’t figure out how to do a star rating but these are delicious! I’m making them for a third time!
Thank you! You made my day❤️
Please keep those Equip recipes coming! I have tried a few that they had on their website and they were not good. I have loved all of your recipes. Thanks for creating them.
Will do! So glad you are enjoying them!
Hi Maria,
Can I make this recipe with egg white protein?
Thanks!
I haven’t tested it with egg white powder. I don’t think the consistency would be the same.
Hi Maria! I love this recipe and trying to focus on getting enough protein in. Can you please share how you would use this recipe to make them into pumpkin pancakes?
I’m so glad you like them! Try this recipe, and make pancakes instead of waffles: https://mariamindbodyhealth.com/collagen-pumpkin-pie-chaffles/
I used the chocolate equip. They were pretty flavorless.
