Wendy’s Frosty Recipe
Are you craving a creamy Wendy’s Frosty but do not want a sugar hangover?
The ingredients of a Wendy’s Frosty are: Milk, Sugar, Corn Syrup, Cream, Whey, Nonfat Dry Milk, Cocoa (Processed With Alkali), Guar Gum, Mono And Diglycerides, Cellulose Gum, Natural Vanilla Flavor, Carrageenan, Calcium Sulfate, Sodium Citrate, Dextrose, Vitamin A Palmitate.
I personally don’t want to eat the majority of the ingredients in a traditional Wendy’s Frosty. I also do not want 390 calories and 58 grams of sugar! That is why I jumped into my kitchen and created a sugar free and dairy free Wendy’s Frosty recipe for all of you!
I used Further Foods Chocolate Collagen in my Wendy’s Frosty recipe!
I love using collagen for the multiple benefits and we are picky about what brand of collagen I use. You all know that products are not always created equal and that is the same with collagen brands. That is why we use Further Foods collagen and gelatin. The quality and potency is the highest you can find!
Adding Further Foods Chocolate Collagen gives this Wendy’s Frosty a health punch that I feel good about giving to my boys!
There have been many studies showing a wide range of benefits from collagen. You get a lot of glycine from collagen. THIS STUDY showed that the glycine derived from collagen is essential to maintain the normal structure and strength of connective tissue, such as bones, skin, cartilage, and blood vessels. Many other studies have shown benefits ranging form immune health, digestive health, bone strength and much more. It also greatly benefits the skin and reduced wrinkles and aging. Smoking reduces collagen synthesis and that is why smokers have more wrinkles.
Another important benefit of collagen is that it is the second most ferment-able substrate behind FOS (fructooligosaccharides). This study showed that collagen is great for feeding our gut flora, much better than almost any plant fiber (collagen is 7.96 where plant fiber is 1.53). So the push for feeding the gut flora with lots of plant fiber is really not needed. Just add some collagen.
Collagen peptide products isolate the collagen and give you a much more concentrated dose. That is why we love the Further Foods Collagen! It is grass-fed, pasture raised, NON-GMO, and it is really easy to add to any smoothie like this sugar free Wendy’s Frosty recipe!

TESTIMONY OF THE DAY
“Hi Maria Emmerich! I committed to fully changing my diet on December 26, 2020. I follow @ketoincourt on IG and she inspired me to buy the 30 Day Ketogenic Cleanse cookbook. So I started the cleanse when she and her husband did in January. I then purchased The Art of Fat Loss and I’ve been incorporating 3 PSMF days weekly over the last few months. So far I’ve lost 43 lbs.
Your recipes are seriously the best! The fact that I’m always full and satisfied after each meal has made this lifestyle change sustainable. Thank you for sharing your cooking gifts with the world!
I wouldn’t have had this level of success without you!!”

This looks amazing! I have one quick question – I have some unflavoured collagen to use up and want to give this recipe a whirl. If you were doing the same, how much cocoa powder do you think you’d add to match the chocolate factor? (Chocolate is critically important to me, if that wasn’t obvious!) Thanks for your thoughts!
I would do 1-2 tablespoons. 🙂
So would it be 1 cup of almond milk if doing psmf? Love the psmf recipes!
Yes, 1 cup. Thanks!!
I have unflavored collagen – is there a tweak available for that?
You can add 1-2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder to taste. 🙂
I own unflavored collagen. Could you please provide amounts of cocoa powder and sweetener to use, instead of my having to by more collagen? Thanks so much! ❤️
I was wondering the same 😊
I use unflavored collagen, and add four teaspoons of cocoa powder (two teaspoons for one drink). You can put more or less, based on what level of chocolate flavor you like. No additional sweetener is needed, unless you like it sweeter.
You can add 1-2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder to taste. 🙂
Is there a way to add a malty flavour to this?
My family went crazy for these frostys for dessert last night. I used unflavored collagen plus cocoa powder. The almond extract makes it. My kids woke this morning asking for it again. A super yummy easy treat, just in time for Summer!
Thanks!!
I have this a lot post yoga – PSMF version. Very refreshing!!
Thanks!
Did you used to have a different(older) Frosty recipe that used cream cheese?
There is a version like that in my Keto Restaurant Favorites book. 🙂

Woo-hoo! The PSMF version will go perfectly with my (non square)Butcher Box beef patties and PSMF wonder buns–(Sorry, Dave)Thanks, Maria!
Thanks!
What would you sub for almond milk and extract? My wife is allergic to almonds.
You could do hemp milk or coconut milk. 🙂
Sounds great! Does the 10g of protein count towards your protein goal? I think you have said it is not a complete protein…?
Why do all your recipes have a print button, but won’t print?
Sorry about that. It works for me. 🙂
Hi, would allulose work ok in this recipe? Thanks 🙂
Yes. 🙂
I wonder if the equip Chocolate protein powder would be good In this in place of the collagen? I don’t have collagen but I’m looking mostly for that frosty flavor!!
For this recipe I think it will work 🙂
Hi,
Trying to be dairy free. Would it be the canned coconut milk, if so do you mixed it and add measure from that or just use the thick part?
Thanks!!!
Yes, you can do that. Just use the liquid unless you want a very thick frosty, then add the cream on top of the can too 🙂
Hi Maria, instead of saying x amount of scoops of collagen, could you give measurements please, as I will be using a different brand ( Australia) and no idea how big your scoops are. Also, can I churn it at the end in an ice cream maker ? Thanks
The way our ingredients are entered into the database, we go by brands to ensure the most accurate macros listed. When something comes in scoops (like Further Food Collagen, Equip Prime Protein, etc) are called for that is why the measurements are listed like that. Yes, you could churn this recipe 🙂
What kind of almond milk do you recommend and what do you look for when purchasing?
We prefer unsweetened macadamia nut milk (less oxalate): https://mariamindbodyhealth.com/macadamia-nut-milk/
