My baby steps -trying my best everyday & from this post a reminder to drink my tea instead of always grabbing coffee!

  • Kaely says:

Right now, my baby step is focusing on healing my out of whack gut! I love, love, love my coffee. Been able to mostly give up the caffeine, but I always slip back into one cup in the morning! But having wonderful tea I enjoy keeps me from consuming as much dairy which would probably help my weight loss goals!

  • Grace says:

😍😍😍😍😍 this tea looks amazing! I have never tried this brand

  • Grace says:

My baby step: starting yoga again!

  • Paula says:

    I would love this!

  • Mary says:

I love coffee and really believe in the health benefits of it, based on the research. But I also love tea, especially camomile which stirs up memories of homeschooling as a teenager in my parents’ house and later of being pregnant with my oldest.

    • Mary says:

Oh, yeah, my baby steps! Well, I’ve been taking big steps lately with regards to my health. I started keto on 12/1 after my doctor encouraged me to start this keto class here. There’s a doctor here who does classes on it. I’ve been sticking to it really well. For me planning ahead is the absolute key, which means printing recipes, meal planning, snack planning, planning for being away from home. My next goal is to get into a slow but steady exercise routine. I am also starting the stretches in the book Pain Free for my TMJ, along with continuing to see my chiropractor who does adjustments for TMJ. It’s helping a lot!

  • Terry says:

Love tea, especially as I have weaned back off coffee

  • Kathy says:

Cooking instead of eating out a lot. It takes planning and I am 60% there but that is much better than it was.

  • audrey says:

    I’ve started exercising

  • Kathy says:

I’ve started Intermittent Fasting. My eating window is 11:00am – 7:00pm

  • Kay Cook says:

I am a total coffeeholic in the morning. I don’t eat a lot and I’m not doing something right. If drinking tea helps then I will try to do it. I’m desperate to lose weight. I’ve had two hips replaced and a knee replaced in less than two years. I have a bad back. I exercise and am doing physical therapy. I’m also 74 years old and try to keep going as much as possible.

  • Karyn says:

I have started logging everything I eat and making better trades for foods.

  • Samiyah says:

I am currently eating by my meal plan daily. Each day after work I prep my meal for the next day. I’m usually bone tired but it works and keeps me on track

  • Jean says:

I am slowly trying to ween myself off of coffee and replace it with tea.

  • koshie says:

LONG-term tea drinker here (40 years!)! I got hooked at the end of my senior year in college when my best friend gifted me with a tin of tea bags. Being from the South, I’d ALWAYS had my tea sweetened and iced. And I’ve never drunk coffee — can’t stand the smell!
But you asked for a comment about my baby-steps. I am currently working on incorporating more FIBER into my diet. I find this difficult to do while keeping fat high, carbs low, and calories low enough to lose weight. And yes, I ADORE eating veggies! But it’s not enough unless I eat flaxmeal, which you don’t seem to be keen on. Anyway…. baby steps…..

  • Jacquie Z says:

I love flavored tea, but I love flavored coffee too.

  • Julie says:

I completely agree with your comment Maria about its the warm drink to sip and hold in the morning that’s my ultimate. I’ve been collecting my favorite teas and am slowly transitioning. 😉

  • Shari N. says:

Baby steps for me…I became pregnant and stopped coffee, but switched to green tea…now I alternate tea and decaf coffee.

Maria – I have a question. I am a teacher, one student is struggling with focusing, and the parents are in the process of medicating him. She asked, so I recommended your site to her. She was overwhelmed and wanted to know a few books that I would recommend she read. So I am asking you.. the expert…what books would you recommend, it seems he might have ADD.

I’ve done so many baby steps in the last few years, and they add up to so much!
I never was into coffee, but I’ve decided to have my breakfast some time after 12:00, most days. I was eating out of habit and not because I was hungry. Now I wait until I’m hungry and eat my breakfast for lunch (or later). IMF has knocked me out of weight loss stalls so many times!

Hi Maria: Are you saying coffee has to go? Is it because of caffeine? Doesn’t tea have caffeine too?

  • Jenny Mathweg says:

My baby steps… Starting Jan 1 we are going to start to eat the Ketogenic way. We have been eating low carb and high fat and using all Maria’s recipes since Nov 26. I’m reading the 30 day accelerated package now so I understand the plan before we start. Then I’m going to get moving and do recommended exercises and start (slowly) running again . We are going to follow pretty strict. My children are totally healthier following Maria. By cutting out sugar (still eat berries) and have gluten free bread as a treat the kids sleep better , allergies are gone and my oldest is thinning out and not considered overweight. I’m so very excited to start my KETO journey! THANK U SO MUCH MARIA!!much love and blessings Jenny

A new baby step right now is choosing a picture of me from about 5 years ago when I was very healthy and at a comfortable weight and using it as motivation. I won’t let the picture bring me down as a reminder of how far I’ve fallen(as it has in the past), but spur me on because I know I’m doing the things that will lead me there again soon!
