Kettle and Fire Bone Broth Discount!
Bone broths are one of the most nourishing foods. It is so medicinal that if I could bottle up into a pill, the pharmaceutical companies would be broke. Kettle and Fire understands the amazing properties of bone broth and have created an amazing product!
Because broth can be regarded as a liquefied form of the important components of bones, the medicinal benefits of bone broth are attributed to the exceptionally high levels of minerals and amino acids. In fact bone broth can be considered both a high quality multi-mineral and protein supplement.
1. HYDROPHILIC COLLOIDS: Stock is also awesome because it has hydrophilic colloids. Raw foods are colloidal and are hydrophilic, meaning that they attract liquids. This is important because when we eat a salad or other raw food, the hydrophilic colloids attract digestive juices for rapid and effective digestion. Colloids that have been heated are usually hydrophobic (meaning they repel liquids, making cooked foods harder to digest). However, the gelatin in meat broths has the special property of attracting liquids even after it has been heated. A good visual is Jell-O, the gelatin attracts water to form desserts, which allows it to attract digestive juices to the surface of cooked food particles.
2. CROHN’S and COLITIS: Broth contains gelatin, which aids in digestion and works amazing as a treatment of intestinal disorders, including hyperacidity, colitis and Crohn’s disease because it heals the intestinal wall. Many clients of mine have Colitis, leaky gut, diverticulitis, Crohn’s or other intestinal problems. By supplementing with broth and other key supplements (such as l-glutamine) we can strengthen the intestinal walls, which also supports our immune system. Babies had fewer digestive problems when gelatin was added to their milk. It enhances digestion by attracting digestive juices to food in the gut. It also calms and soothes the gut lining. Gelatin should be the first therapeutic food for anyone suffering from digestive conditions affecting the intestines.
3. Collagen is a protein extracted in broth through the breakdown of bone and cartilage during the cooking process and is referred to as gelatin. The quality of broth is usually determined by the amount of gelatin it contains. The gelatin in broth is also useful for the treatment of anemia and other blood disorders, like diabetes, muscular dystrophy and even cancer.
4. AMINO ACIDS: Although gelatin isn’t a complete protein, (it only has the amino acids arginine and glycine in large amounts) it acts as a protein sparer, allowing the body to more fully utilize the complete proteins that are taken in. So if you are someone who can’t afford large amounts of meat in your diet, gelatin-rich broths are great to help boost protein absorption.
5. MINERAL ABSORPTION: Healthy bone tissue is naturally high in minerals (calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium) which provide a healthy bone structure, nervous system as well as hormone balance. Fish stock will also provide iodine which is essential for a healthy thyroid. Broths made from fish bones will also provide iodine. The gelatin in broth strengthens digestion which helps you absorb more nutrients. Gelatin helps people digest milk and dairy products.
“Stock contains minerals in a form the body can absorb easily—not just calcium but also magnesium, phosphorus, silicon, sulphur and trace minerals. It contains the broken down material from cartilage and tendons–stuff like chondroitin sulphates and glucosamine, now sold as expensive supplements for arthritis and joint pain.” Sally Fallon Morell
6. JOINT HEALTH: Gelatin is derived from cartilage from the bone and has a huge benefit for regaining joint health.

Another option to making your own bone broth. Thanks. I have bought the Bone Broth Protein Powder from Epigenetic Labs and have found it very useful. I use it anywhere the recipe asks for protein powder to be added as well as mixing it up for bone broth. Also am able to drink it as a Smoothie for lunch. However, because I live in Canada these products become more expensive because of the exchange, shipping and customs. You have to decide what is more important, the health benefits and convenience or the cost. Thanks for educating us and for all your helpful, healthful tips.
Hi Sharon,
Do you use the powder for bread or cookie baking too?
About how many calories and grams of protein are in fat free homemade bone broth, and how thick is it?
I have all that info in my latest cookbook;)
I can’t find the price anywhere on the website without first giving up all of my contact information. Can anyone tell me the price?
One carton is $11.99 so with $10 off it is $1.99 plus shipping. 🙂
Hi Maria or Craig,
What is your opinion on taking bone broth or bone broth powder as a supplement in stead of Hydrolized collagen? Is there a difference? Is taking this as a supplement after workouts (for example) better then whey or egg white protein?
Thanks!
What are you using it for?
That would depend on the answer😉
Hi Maria,
actually, I’m only taking this as a supplement for bone, skin, joints, … Not really as a protein supplement. My husband takes the egg protein from Jay Robb as a shake for his workouts. So I was wondering wich is better for what. Thanks!
Wondering how you take this …drink some every day? How much at a time? I just finished my 5th chemo and they said my potassium is very low and they want me to take pills to increase that level. Would drinking this bone broth do the same thing as the pills? Wondering if it high in sodium, too?
I use it in recipes. But you can drink it in place of coffee.
Going back to Sophie’s question, I’m wondering the same. I would like collegen to support my joints after decades of working out – want to be able to continue that for years to come. Bone broth or Great Lakes collegen- are they equally good for that?
Hi Sue,
I’ve found several options. It just makes it harder to choose and decide what would be best, so I would really like Maria’s opinion and advice.
– the Bone Broth Protein Powder from Epigenetic Labs ‘like Sharon mentioned’
– great lakes hydrolized collagen

Yep! Both are great. Broth will have added minerals.
Thanks Maria! 🙂
With all the great benefits of bone broth I wonder if the glutamine content is a problem if you want to stay keto?
For some.
Hi Maria & Craig, gotta order some bone broth with your special hook-up. Might go ahead and order the offer of 6 with free shipping. I’m dealing with a lot of pain in my metacarpophalangeal joints, yes, both of them. They are so sore, throbbing pain in the joint and pain heading up my right arm too. Ouchy! Would there be a benefit to drinking bone broth for my joints? Willing to try anything.
Yep. I would also add osteovantiv.
