Can you use other meats other than venison?
Sure, anything you like. 🙂
The marinade looks great! I was thinking about trying it on a venison or elk steak and grilling it instead of making jerky (I don’t have a dehydrator). Have you used it for grilling meat?
I haven’t but that sounds great!
Maria, is there a specific cut or type of meat that works best for jerky?
I think you can do any cut. But the more fat it has, the quicker it will go bad.

Sandy, does your oven operate on the low temperature of 160 degrees? If so, you can make it in the oven like the recipe says. Not sure how low most ovens go.
hi there maria, do I have to use the oil. will it go bad faster with the oil?
and would I be able to put it in the dehydrator with the oil in it?

In a dehydrator you could try omitting the oil if you like. 🙂
