Craig and I are starting a new and fun keto video series on Youtube! Every Thursday we are posting a new video on Youtube on how to do keto properly, how to do keto on vacation, how our kids eat keto, the science of the fat flux…whatever you want us to discuss, we will listen! All you have to do is leave a comment on Youtube and tell us what you would like us to teach you about!

I thought long and hard about what day to post these new videos and for me, Friday was the day that started my “cheat weekend.” I would be so good Monday through Friday morning; when Friday afternoon came, my cheating started. This is why I decided to post our Youtube video on my blog on Friday mornings. To inspire you to not cheat. I wasted too many years hating the way I felt on Monday mornings! I want you to be empowered to see this as a lifestyle and feel that there are so many yummy foods to eat rather than focusing on the things you can’t have. I have ice cream just about every single day! I no longer need to have “cheat” days! I certainly do not judge anyone for having days where they fall off the wagon, I did it for many years. My words come from love and are meant to encourage you!

Love the videos!! Thank you for doing them. I would like to get more information on how to do Keto as a whole family. I started back in the summer and slowly have gotten my husband on board with this lifestyle. We have two young children (11 and 7) and want to get them more involved in the kitchen and eating healthier 🙂 I have Keto Restaurant Favorites and quick and easy Keto cooking and love them!!!
I would love to know your tips on how to eat kept when you are out, on vacation, or at someone else’s house. Also, I use a ketogenic diet to control my type 1 diabetes and have had a lot of success in lowering my blood sugars and insulin dosages, but certainly don’t know all there is to know. I would love to know if you have any more tips regarding how to manage type 1 diabetes with a ketogenic diet.
I’m torn between buying virgin coconut oil and refined coconut oil, what are your views on this? 😊
Thanks for the videos – very helpful for someone who is first time Keto! Two things I’m looking for more info on: 1) how to get my kids Keto-ized, 2) how do I adapt fat amounts in order to lose weight? I have the 30 Day Cleanse and the fat amounts seem too high for me to start using body fat. Thanks again for all you & family are doing!

Nice first video….very informative. I’d love to see why some of us stick to the keto woe, yet lost weight so much slower than others. I definitely need to lose about another 20 -25 pounds, but primarily do keto to reduce Lupus symptoms. I have seen a great improvement in 6 mos. but weight loss is slow. Thank you both!

Excellent video! I know I’m going to enjoy watching them. Please advise more on how to eat out on keto. I’ve had some challenges there. Also, more on how to keep from eating too much fat that will keep our bodies from losing fat.

I loved the video! Your short little video answered so many questions for me I can’t wait to see what’s coming next. I have been eating low-carb high-fat diet (my version of Keto) but have not been losing any weight. I realize now that I should be eating a higher protein and less fat due to the fact that I want to lose weight and should be using my own body fat to burn. Can’t wait for your next video! THANK YOU Maria and Craig for your wonderful sharing hearts! This video was amazing. My husband and I have been Keto since the end of July 2017. My husband has lost 45 pounds and doing amazingly well. His energy is thru the roof, brain clarity was improved in the first 2 weeks of Keto. I’ve lost 35 and honestly am still struggling with energy and brain fog. I have Fibromyalgia and I do realize that is a huge factor in my results but I was so hoping that Keto would have helped more. Could you two maybe do a video addressing different illnesses and how best to use Keto for improving the symptoms of those illnesses and realistic expectations for those suffering with the illnesses? Maybe even examples of clients you’ve had and real life results that might not always be “butterflies and roses” right away. Great video and info as always! Question I would like addressed, I understand keto is good for fertility, esp for those with insulin resistance, pcos, hormone imbalances, but what about those without those problems at a normal or lower body weight/body fat. Will it affect milk production after baby?
I’m in perimenopause and my periods are so whacky and so is my pms! I was checking blood ketones and they drop when I am more pmsy and or bleeding. Also, my ketones drop by quite a bit. I test blood ketones, fasted and sometimes at night. Is this normal? Can you give pointers on this, meaning female hormones? It is quite an unpleasant time!
For reference, I do follow the ketogenic girl program and it is quite strict. Set up for accelerated fat loss and for my healing…lots of inflammation, muscle pain.

Hi Maria……. I’ve just started keto Jan 1st…. I’m confused over some things with my diet. I’m 5’4” and my starting weight was 320…. things are going well…. I’ve lost 30 lbs this month already and it’s only tha 20th….. my problem is this…. I am soooo hungry later on in the evening…. I stop eating at 4:00 so I am fasting for a long time before I eat at around 10:00 in the morning….. I am insulin resistant so I need to keep my protein intake fairly low…. about 2-3oz per meal… otherwise my body produces to much glycogen and I don’t lose….(I know this because I been on the high protein diet fad for years and wondered why I could never lose anything )….. anyway I can’t have a lot of protein…. and I’m trying to watch my fat intake because I want my body to burn my fat not the fat I’ve eaten…. what do you suggest is the best way to help with this dilemma ?
What are your macros? Fat/protein/carbs?
It can take 4-6 weeks to get fully adapted. During that time add a fat bomb or higher fat snack as needed to fight cravings and hunger. After hunger subsides, remove it.
I see that Aldi now sells “100% grass fed 85/15 ground beef”. (Simply Nature) What do you think; do you trust it?

Hi Maria. Thank you for your video. You look like your glowing! I have been keto for 2 years now and have stopped acid reflux meds (Nexium) with your help last summer. I still combat the acid reflux at times. I like my coffee (please don’t judge). Anyway, maybe if you could talk about the important supplements when in ketosis. Love your classes!
I am curious as to whether or not the LLV thru Doterra is Keto Friendly?

First let me say, you are my favorite keto cookbook author! Love all you recipes. I just got The Art of Healty Eating, Savory, Sweets, Kids cookbook. Your lemon bar recipe is a bit vague in the directions. It calls for you to put the cookie in a square glass baking dish, what size? Then for the coconut oil or butter should I soften it first, use it hard or melted. One last question, there is a recipe for pumpkin fondue and the picture so a little cookie to dip in it, what cookie is that and where is the recipe? It looks fabulous!

I am starting the week one meal plan in your new Dairy Free Ketogenic recipes and I am wondering what is the brand of cherry extract that you use? I want to make the Cherry Almond Breakfast drink. I have found a link to another recipe for the cherry extract on your website but it doesn’t work. I searched through all your lists of pantry and food sources but I can’t find it. I can’t find it in the stores either. Thanks so much!
