The BEST Steak Sauce
I LOVE steak but I love sauces even more! I’m always on the quest for making the BEST sauce for everything. My recipe testers said I blew their mind with my Ambrosia Sauce and I think this Steak Sauce recipe is going to blow your mind too!
What is your favorite cut of steak?
My favorite steak is a filet mignon! I love how tender and juicy this steak is! I use this recipe for the BEST Steak Sauce on my filet mignon whenever I have one!
This steak sauce was inspired by a steak I had at Duo Steak in Maui. They served my steak with Truffle Hollandaise. It was the best steak I ever had!
I decided to take their steak sauce idea to the next level and make brown butter which is the best! Combining these ingredients really does make this the BEST Steak Sauce ever!
To make this amazing steak sauce, I found black truffles on amazon (click HERE) and adding just a little added such an “Umami BOMB” that makes everyone fall in love with this sauce!

The BEST Steak Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 3/4 cup beef broth I used Kettle & Fire brand
- 1 tablespoon black truffles
- 1 teaspoon Redmond Real salt use code Maria15 for 15% off
Instructions
- Heat the butter in a large sauce pot over high heat. Whisk often so the butter doesn't burn on the outside of the pan. The butter will start to bubble and froth up. Whisk often at this point. The butter will start to darken and turn brown. Remove from heat and keep whisking.
- Add the cream cheese.
- After a minute, slowly add the broth, truffles and salt.
- Use a stick blender to puree until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning and truffle taste to your liking.
- Pour into a mason jar. Cover and store in the fridge for up to 7 days. This sauce will thicken a lot overnight.
- Serve with your favorite steak!
That looks delicious!
Thanks!
Your sauce was delicious! Thank you. Sadly, I had to leave out the truffles, as they are my kryptonite lol.
Thank you! 🙂
I don’t have the black truffles but I want to make it today. Should I wait for the truffles or give it a shot?
You can try it without. But the truffles do add a special flavor. 🙂
I made it with caramelized roasted garlic. OMG. Try that!!
Sounds delicious!
Great recipe. I did not have any truffles so I added powdered lemon peel, onion powder and garlic powder. Really turned out nice. It’s great for dipping pork rinds in.
I used black truffle salt.
It was delicious.
Yum!
Hi! I have to avoid dairy due to Hashimotos and my psoriasis. Any alternatives to the cream cheese?
Sorry, I haven’t tested a dairy free option for this recipe 🙏
I made this sauce using Kite Hill Cream Cheese alternative. It tastes GREAT!!
Awesomeness!
Instead of cream cheese can I use tallow?
I think that would result in a very oily sauce.
Can this be frozen for later?
I haven’t tried. Usually a sauce like this will freeze, but when you thaw it separates. But if you blend it back up with a stick blender it might be okay 🙂
Has anyone tried using truffle oil? I was thinking of adding somewhere between 1 tsp and 1 tbsp of a decent truffle oil instead of the truffles as they are very hard to get near me.
This one is great! https://amzn.to/3cw9aDJ
Thanks. I found the same brand at Meijer’s (we live in the upper MidWest) and made the recipe as was posted on your YouTube channel as follows:
1 stick (1/2 cup) unsalted butter, browned.
1 8oz block of Philadelphia full fat cream cheese
1 good pinch kosher salt
2 tsp truffle oil (maybe just a bit less than 2 tsp)
1/4 cup Kettle & Fire beef bone broth
It tastes wonderful!!!!
I have smallish piece of a whole beef tenderloins that I’ve cut into medallions and will serve it as a variant on Tournedos Rossini (minus the port wine to cut out any sugar).
Can you tell me how many grams are in a serving or how many servings are in the total recipe? Thank you!!
Each batch makes 16 servings, about 2 tablespoons each serving 🙂
I wonder if this would be yummy over ground beef. Like a stroganoff sauce. Has anybody ever tried it?
Yes! It is delicious over ground beef 🙂
The best sauce ever! Thank you Maria ! I do it very often ! 😍
You made my day!
Your recipie liste tons more salt than your video. I made it with the website recipie and it was way over salty. Wasted the good cream cheese and bone broth. I bought for it. 🙁
Sorry 🙁 Always salt to taste.
In the video you only use 1/2 cup butter and the recipe says 1 cup.
????
Follow the written recipe 🙂
