Summertime is a great time to break out your slow cooker. It saves time and you don’t have to heat up your whole house on those warm summer days! Thank you all for your support!
I ordered mine last night. I can’t wait to get it!!!!
Thank you! 🙂
I ordered mine yesterday and added the savory cookbook, also. I have the savory on kindle, but find I like to browse through the actual books. When I have trouble finding a recipe, I often just search for it on Maria’s website, as I think I have ALL the cookbooks & usually can’t remember which one is in which book! The recipes that I use over and over, I put on recipe cards in my file. I thought I’d share these tips with everyone!
Thank you so much for your support! 🙂
I have all your books. I have the 3 soft cover cookbooks spiral bound into one book ….I love adding the spiral binding. I also spiral bound Nutritious and Delicious. I wonder if you could make a master recipe index that includes all the books? Sometimes it takes me a while to find the particular recipe I want. Maybe it could be a downloadable file off your website. That would be a big help to me..I have tons of lowcarb cookbooks. I also have 7 kids at home. Your recipes are what I use exclusively this day. It is so great to give my family chocolate donuts for breakfast and no one melts later from sugar drops…..Love what you do. Thank you.
Great Idea! Thank you! 🙂
Ordered it last night, can’t wait! This is my (late) mother’s day gift. Also ordered some Just Like Brown Sugar so I can make your choc chip cookies.
Thank you! 🙂
I just received your metabolism book and can’t wait to read it!! My question is about making freezer jam. Our strawberries are ripe and was wondering which sweetener you reccomend for replacing sugar in freezer jam. I tried it last year using fruit juice, but the consistency wasn’t quite right. Thanks!
I would try confectioners Swerve. 🙂

I plan to make fruit butters this year because they use less sugar, but not sure if you can make this with strawberries? Does anyone know?
Fruit butters can have a lot of sugar (from the fruit). Anytime you concentrate an already sugary fruit (like apples) into butter or dried fruit it increases the sugar concentration. One medium apple can have over 17 grams of sugar. 🙂
Do you know if Swerve can be substituted in a standard jam recipe?
Yes, that should work. 🙂
OMG! I love it so much and I can’t wait to order it online!! Thanks for having such a good cookbook, I’m so excited to learn new recipes. Yahoo.
Thank you! 🙂
I don’t use a slow cooker but I congratulate you on your latest publication!
Congratulations! I love my slow cooker so I am sure this will be a very helpful cookbook! I also have an unrelated question. My 8 year old daughter was showing signs of early puberty, including body odor. We eliminated gluten from her diet (for other reasons), and we have not noticed the body odor since. Could there possibly be a link or was it probably just coincidence? Just curious if you’ve heard of this before.
She probably has a gluten sensitivity. Symptoms can be wide ranging, not just intestinal issues (one of my clients developed alopecia from her gluten allergy). 🙂
Thank you! A part of me felt like I was crazy, thinking there was a connection, but then I also kept thinking that it all adds up. I wish we’d known earlier–hard to eliminate gluten with an 8 year old. : )
I am enjoying the Slow Cooker cookbook. One question: in the Cereal and Granola recipes, does the mixture go directly into the slow cooker, or stay in the bowl to cook? Thanks~
Thank you! The mixture goes directly into the slow cooker. 🙂
Hello, I was considering to buy this book but I was curious as to your recipes inside. It is a low carb book however do the recipes follow a keto 20-30g carb max daily or is it closer to an atkins diet (50-60g of carb).
I am more ketogenic with my diet staying below 30g of carbs per day. You can certainly get more than that with my recipes if you like. Thanks! 🙂
I just try to recreate all the best recipes with that lower carb count.
I have a question about the Tomato Basil Parmesan Soup recipe. Did you puree the vegetables at some point? I don’t see chunks of tomato in the photo, so I thought I should ask.
The book looks great. I love having photos for each recipe.
Thanks for your help.
Yes, I missed that step. Thanks for pointing it out. 🙂
I know! I hate when cookbooks don’t have photos for every recipe. Thank you!
I made the slowcooker creme brulee and used coconut milk (2C) I saw in your original recipe that is an option & didn’t want to use all heavy cream. It separated upon baking, however. Was I supposed to use just the cream part (didn’t see that in the original recipe)? I did pour off the watery part & it tastes ok. Thanks for your input; I will want to make this again!
Yes, if you are subing for heavy cream, just use the cream part on top of a can of coconut milk. You can put it in the fridge before opening to help it separate. 🙂
Dear Maria,
I’m not sure if this is the correct place to pose this question, but I’m desperate for some advice, so hopefully you won’t mind if it’s in the ‘wrong’ place!
3 weeks ago, I gave up alcohol (was dependent), stopped bingeing and purgeing (after 30+ years), gave up all gluten/grains, starchy veg, pastas, refined flour & sugar, bread……in other words, I’m eating the healthy, low carb/high (good) fats way.
I have gained nearly 2 kgs, my belly looks 6 months pregnant and I’m so bloated and uncomfortable. I’m drinking a glass of water every hour, too. I’m not obese and I exercise every day for min 30 mins (either running or with weights) and I’m scared because I couldn’t stand to blow up huge. I don’t know when this will stop.
I’m sure I’m on the right track, but what is going wrong? PLEASE help – I don’t want to go back to the old me. Thanks.
You are definitely on the right track. After all those changes your body is going through a lot of changes. Some take a month or more to work themselves out. It is hard to know what areas or deficiencies might be causing this without a health assessment. I would be honored to help. 🙂

Oh – thank you SOOOOO much. I can’t believe you replied! Where DO you find the time?? Is it really you or a team working for you??
I have all your books and will definitely continue on this path – my life has changed and I’m never going back to how I was. There’s a history of adult-onset type 2 diabetes in my family and I’m pretty sure I was heading there, too.
I’m so sorry, but I can’t afford a health assessment, but thank you for your offer. One good thing – I no longer crave. I was utterly addicted to sugar before. Now stevia and erythritol have taken its place. I do hope that’s not the cause as I couldn’t do without your nutty butter cookies or cinnamon coffee cake (which I make as mini cakes in muffin cases for snacks with sweetened natural greek yoghurt on top twice a day).
On with the show – time for my weight training – die, belly!!!
Thank you for your support! Yes, this is me. It is just my husband Craig and I that do it all. We love helping people any way we can. Good luck! 🙂
I love the new slow cooker cookbook. This is the really amazing slow cooker journal book is very helpful to prepare healthy meals. Thanks for sharing a informatic information.
Thank you! 🙂
Hi,
Since I consider myself still a newbie at this, question is the book preview I’m looking at online Amazon kindle version says:
“Tip
All flours are not created equal. If you have coconut flour in the house and the recipe calls for almond flour and you use coconut flour instead, your finished product will not turn out. Baking with almond flour also requires using more eggs to provide more structure. Use it in cakes, cookies, and other sweet baked goods. I buy mine here: aff.nuts.com/SF3E”
I thought it was reverse, more eggs for coconut flour, less for almond flour?
This may explain why my coconut flour recipes are way too moist 🙂
Maria,
I recently bought your Slow Cooker cookbook and it is great…easy to follow with lots of helpful tips and information. Plus, the food I prepare actually looks like the pictures and tastes good! It is nice to be able to prepare and enjoy food that I know is truly healthy. Thank you. Speaking of the pictures, can you tell me where to get the bowls in the Clam Chowder and Pumpkin Chili photos in the book? Thanks again.
Thanks! I got those at a local shop that carries kitchen supplies (https://plus.google.com/+cooksofcrocushill/about?gl=US&hl=en-US). 🙂
I don’t see how to make Coconut Kefir in the cookbook, just nutritional comparison to other yogurts. Is it located elsewhere? Thanks!
I purchase it at the grocery store.
