The Top Superfoods

I recently gave a presentation at Low Carb USA and one of the things I discussed was nutrients and what the top superfoods are!

I once thought the true superfoods were kale and blueberries, but looking into the research, beef and organ meat are the true superfoods! I also found the science about how kale and most vegetables are filled with antinutrients that rob you from the vitamins and minerals in the vegetables! (click HERE to read more on that).

The top superfoods may surprise you! The top superfood is organ meat!

All the different organs have different nutrient density but they all are the true superfoods that most of us do not eat enough of, or any!  Instead of saying to our kids “be sure to eat your vegetables” we should be saying “be sure to eat some organ meats”!

After reading the label of my multivitamin, I tossed it in the garbage. Even though it was a medical grade multivitamin, it was all plant based nutrients that aren’t as bioavailable to the body as animal based ones! I also tossed my fish oil after reading how rancid it gets (click HERE to read more on that).

I personally do not love eating organ meat, except Sweet Breads! So traded my multivitamin for Ancestral Supplements to fuel my body with the true superfoods! I even have them packed in my suitcase for when I travel!

I love Ancestral Supplements superfoods for many reasons!

1. Pasture raised in New Zealand

2. Grass-fed & grass-finished

3. Third party tested for purity!

4. Hormone, pesticide and GMO free

5. Absolutely NO fillers

Even my children take the beef organs!

Especially for anyone doing PSMF (protein sparing modified fasting), I highly suggest adding Ancestral Supplements to fuel your body with the nutrients it needs while you lose weight. On PSMF days you are eating some of the most nutrient dense foods (animal proteins mainly), but you aren’t eating that much of them so you don’t get a large load of daily vitamins and minerals. Adding a supplement like this can really help your body heal while you lose weight.

We hear all the time from clients that if they miss taking their organ meats or liver supplements for a couple days, they really notice it in how they feel.

Ancestral Supplements have a wide range of organ supplements that have a variety of benefits!

The superfoods I always take are the Grassfed collagen, Living Bone and the Beef Brain. I take those daily!

I give my boys the Beef Organs (black bottle) and the Wild Caught Fish Eggs for their superfood multivitamin!

Every body has different needs and that is another reason I love the variety of superfoods offered by Ancestral Supplements!

If you have a thyroid issue, they have a fantastic thyroid gland supplement. For our ancestors, the thyroid gland was extremely important for fertility. Our ancestors living far North would consume large amounts of moose thyroid glands during winter months and have most of the children born during summer months as a result.

If you have a bladder control issue, they have a bladder restore supplement. If you suffer from prostate issues, they have a prostate supplement. They even have a Female Enhancement for women who suffer from PMS related symptoms or low libido. No matter what your body needs, check out Ancestral SUPERFOOD Supplements!

I have a question that might be silly, but since mushrooms aren’t a vegetable, are they ok on the carnivore diet?

  • Kelley says:

Hi Maria – Thanks so much for all the amazing info you share for free! I was wondering which one of the Grassfed supplements would be for bladder issues? Is it the one for kidneys? My mom is struggling so bad with a leaky bladder and nothing seems to help her. Thank you again for all you do!

Hi! I’m still breastfeeding my son, and I was wondering, which of the Ancestral supplements are best for a nursing mother?

  • Lisa says:

Maria, once an organ meat is cooked, like a liver, does it still include all of the same nutritional value as if it were raw?

  • Abby Myers says:

How can we watch this presentation?

  • Tammie Venne says:

Can you tell me what amount of liver or meat you used in the comparison chart vs other items please? I am wanting to take to doctor to show but not sure how much of each item was measured…..also for the organ meat supplements, is there a way to find the vitamin content so that I can compare against a multivitamin?

  • Melanee says:

Hi, Maria! I started on the Beef Liver supplements and had some ankle swelling. Which I thought was very odd. I backed back down to 3 a day and haven’t had any other issues. Any idea why? Should I switch to the Organs supp next time? Also, is the thyroid supplement ok if on thyroid medication for hashi’s?

    Thanks!

    • Maria Emmerich says:

Hmm, that is strange. I would give it a little while with the lower dose and see if the body adjusts, then try adding a bit more. 🙂

Hi Maria, I’ve have a question about pre-biotic fibers – I’m seeing more and more ‘keto friendly’ products with all kinds of fiber – tapioca, banana, etc that claim they are ‘Resistant Starch,’ meaning they don’t negatively impact your blood sugar levels. You’ve informed us that fiber isn’t that great and we shouldn’t deduct fiber grams from total carbs when calculating macros. What is your position on these ‘Resistant Starches’? Thank you for all you do – you’re amazing!

  • Gail says:

I started keto 3 years ago, some success yet not as many health issues resolved.
Started Carnivore two days ago , any suggestions?
If you can go from Keto to Carnivore and stay on it all these years, I guess this 60 yr woman can do it too!

    • Maria Emmerich says:

Yes, if you have unresolved health issues with keto then trying carnivore is a good idea. Make sure to do dairy free too. Good luck! 🙂
