No Bake Pumpkin Pie with a Carnivore Crust
There is something especially comforting about pumpkin pie. It is warm, nostalgic, creamy, and deeply tied to the kind of desserts people look forward to all year. But when you take those familiar flavors and rebuild them with more intentional ingredients, the result can feel even better. My no bake pumpkin pie with a carnivore crust offers that balance beautifully, especially when you use Further Food collagen and Further Food grass-fed gelatin to support both nutrition and texture.
What makes this combination so useful is that collagen and gelatin are not doing the exact same job. Collagen helps add a gentle protein boost and blends easily into creamy fillings, while gelatin helps create the body, structure, and sliceable texture that make a pie actually feel like pie. Together, they can make a pumpkin dessert feel richer, more satisfying, and more functional without losing the cozy flavor that makes pumpkin pie so special.
Why Collagen Works So Well in a Pumpkin Pie Filling
One of the biggest benefits of collagen in a recipe like pumpkin pie is how quietly it works. It blends into creamy fillings without drawing attention to itself, which makes it especially useful in desserts built around pumpkin, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.
That matters because you want the filling to taste like pumpkin pie, not like a supplement. A collagen powder that dissolves smoothly and supports a creamy texture can help keep the dessert soft, rich, and cohesive while still adding extra protein to the recipe.
Further Food Collagen Adds a Supportive Protein Boost
Further Food’s collagen peptides are positioned as a grass-fed, pasture-raised bovine collagen product that provides Type 1 and 3 collagen. The brand also highlights broad support for skin, hair, nails, bones, joints, and digestion. In a recipe like keto pumpkin pie, that gives the ingredient a little more purpose than simply acting as a filler.
It helps turn dessert into something a bit more substantial. The pie still feels indulgent, but it also contributes supportive protein in a form that is easy to use and easy to enjoy.
The Skin Benefits Are the Most Supported
This is one of the best-known reasons people use collagen, and it is also one of the most credible. Human studies and meta-analyses suggest that oral collagen supplementation improves skin hydration and elasticity over time.
That does not mean a slice of pumpkin pie becomes a beauty product. But it does mean collagen can offer more than just recipe function. Used consistently, it supports skin health in a way that makes it more interesting than a standard dessert ingredient.
That can be part of what makes collagen so appealing in recipes. It helps you incorporate it in a form you actually look forward to eating.
Why Further Food Gelatin Matters in Pumpkin Pie
If collagen is the quiet nutritional support, gelatin is often the ingredient doing the visible culinary work.
Further Food’s grass-fed gelatin is described as an unflavored gelatin sourced from grass-fed, pasture-raised beef, with 10 grams of collagen per serving and no sugar or fillers. In a pumpkin pie recipe, that kind of ingredient can be especially useful because gelatin helps create body, stability, and structure.
A good pumpkin pie needs more than flavor. It needs a filling that sets properly, slices cleanly, and still feels creamy when you take a bite. Gelatin helps make that happen.
Gelatin Helps Create a Better Texture
This may be one of the most practical benefits of all. Gelatin helps a keto pumpkin pie feel more like a true pie and less like a loose pumpkin custard. It thickens, supports the set of the filling, and adds the kind of structure that helps the dessert hold together beautifully once chilled.
That is especially valuable in lower-carb recipes, where you are often not relying on sugar or starch to provide the same thickening and structure you would find in a traditional pie. Gelatin steps in and helps create that classic texture with a different set of ingredients.
It Can Make the Filling Feel Richer and More Cohesive
Texture is one of the biggest factors in whether a dessert feels truly satisfying. Pumpkin pie should feel smooth, creamy, and substantial. Gelatin helps support that by giving the filling body and a more unified mouthfeel.
Instead of feeling thin or overly soft, the pie can feel more polished and more complete. That kind of texture support is one of the reasons gelatin works so well in recipes like custards, panna cotta, marshmallows, gummies, and pies.
The Carnivore Crust Makes the Whole Dessert Feel More Substantial
A carnivore crust already gives the dessert a richer, more protein-forward base than a traditional pie crust. Pairing that with a collagen- and gelatin-supported filling creates a nice balance. The crust adds structure and depth, while the filling stays creamy, spiced, and comforting.
That combination can make the pie feel much more intentional than a standard dessert. It still tastes like a treat, but it fits much more naturally into a higher-protein, lower-sugar way of eating.
A More Functional Dessert Without Losing the Comfort
One of the nicest things about using collagen and gelatin in a keto pumpkin pie is that the dessert can still feel indulgent. It is not about turning pie into a “perfect” food. It is about creating a version that keeps the comfort, flavor, and nostalgia while making the recipe work a little harder for you.
Collagen can help add supportive protein and broader connective-tissue-related appeal. Gelatin helps with the texture and structure that make the pie truly enjoyable. Together, they make the dessert feel more functional without taking away the experience people actually want from pumpkin pie.
Final Thoughts
Further Food collagen and gelatin can be a powerful combination in a keto pumpkin pie with a carnivore crust. Collagen helps add smooth, easy-to-use protein and may support skin and connective tissue over time, while gelatin helps create the creamy, stable, sliceable texture that makes a pumpkin pie feel complete.
That is what makes these ingredients so useful in a recipe like this. They do not just improve the nutrition label. They help the dessert feel better too.

TESTIMONY OF THE DAY

“Hi Maria and Craig, I finally reached my goal!I’ve lost 200lbs from my highest weight of 324 lbs in 2016 to my current weight of 124 lbs.I found Maria Emmerich. I had my macros figured out by Craig. Last Thanksgiving – Christmas I bought your cookbooks and stayed keto and protein sparing since then. I never lacked a nice desert, Christmas coffee cake or treasured meal. I felt there was no need to ever eat sugar again with such good recipes.I still do several protein sparing days a week and keto the other 3-4 days. I’m still an addict and still addicted to sugar. However for the first time in my life I know I can have good food and not feel deprived following your eating planI see my doctor Aug 21st & can’t wait for him to weigh me. He’s never known me to weight 124 lbs. When I was eating sugar and wheat I had severe autoimmune issues and was in pain a lot with arthritis and anxiety. At one point a couple of my tests were so out of range my doc sent me to a specialist who basically said if you lose a lot of weight your sgot test would be lower and you’d feel better. My inflammatory markers were always high when I weighed over 200lbs. Now I feel great and have boundless energy. I walk 7-10 miles a day and take care of my ailing husband all day/night. I know I could never take care of him if I was eating sugar and wheat and grains!Thank you so much for your help! Thank you for your kindness and willingness to share your knowledge. Thank you for my life of enjoying healthy eating!Ps: I’ve gone from a size plus 24 to a size 4. Loving my life” – Cora
