Keto Mozzarella Sticks

If you haven’t noticed, I do not allow advertising on my site.

I just didn’t agree with some of the products that were advertised. They were keto products, but they were unhealthy and I would never personally eat most of the products. It was hard to say no to blog advertisements; they pay thousands of dollars a month, but I just felt uncomfortable about having the products I didn’t recommend on my website.

Instead, I have created a shopping list where you can find all the healthy ingredients that are difficult to find in the grocery store (and if you do find them, they are often very expensive).

I have done a lot of detective work and found the lowest prices on for all of the products I use and love. Everything from food, pantry items, kitchen tools, supplements, and skin products are on my list.

I rarely waste time in the grocery store because I find everything online for a way better price!

All you have to do is click on the words in my recipes and it will take you right to the correct item. If you add them to your cart I get a tiny commission that helps me afford to keep practicing recipes (Recipe experimenting can costing me a fortune!…but I love helping!).

I also have GREAT HOLIDAY GIFT IDEAS on the list!

You can get my full shipping list HERE.

Happy Shopping and THANK YOU for all your support!!!

Ingredients

  • Oil for frying
  • 8 pieces of String Cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 8 TBS Parmesan cheese
  • 4 TBS dried Italian spices

Instructions

  • DO AHEAD: Unwrap the cheese. Place an egg into a medium sized shallow bowl and scramble with a fork. Place the Parmesan cheese and spices in a separate medium sized shallow bowl. Dip the unwrapped cheese sticks into the egg just enough to wet the cheese stick. Then dip into the Parmesan spice mixture and coat the cheese stick well (re-dip in both if need a thicker coating). Place coated cheese sticks in a bowl, cover and freeze for 2 hours or until ready to fry. NOTE: If the cheese sticks are not frozen you will get a gooey mess instead of formed cheese sticks.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or a deep saute pan to medium-high heat.
  • Place each frozen coated cheese sticks into the hot oil, turning frequently, until the outsides become slightly crisp and the cheese becomes gooey. This will only take a minute or two.
  • Remove to a platter, cool slightly, and enjoy with sugar free red sauce!

Hi Maria, Please can I ask how your phone client knew she had a parasite and did she have to taken anything specific for it or was it purely the diet? Many thanks!

  • Lucrecia says:

Oh goody, finally a good sunscreen! Used to use Sunumbra in South Africa, but it costs a fortune to get it here. Thanks so much Maria!

  • Lyn says:

Maria~ This post says “Zero Carb Mozzerella Sticks”, but your nutritional info below it says 2.4 carbs. Is 2.4 carbs so miniscule that it doesn’t have to be counted?

I am also the person who asked about the “Zero Carbs Eggs Benedict”. You said that it is just really low carb, although your nutritional info says it has 3.4 carbs. What do YOU consider too many carbs in a food for YOUR liking?

I am just trying to sort this out, and be able to enjoy more of your recipes while losing weight.

    Thank you so much!

    • Maria Emmerich says:

Well, if each meal is 3g of carbs or less, that is 9g for the day (if eating 3 meals). I would consider that pretty low and definitely keto. 😉

      • Lyn says:

Okay, very cool! Thank you so much. I very quickly read your books over a year ago, just to get started. But now I need to re-read/take notes to understand. Everyday I thank God for you, your knowledge, and your willingness to share it with the masses for optimum health. <3 Lyn

  • I’m excited to try this with just the cheese strings…also, is parmesan one of the higher carb hard cheeses?

  • Debbie says:

How is Mitchum deodorant non-toxic? Did you read the ingredient list? I’m confused.

  • Claudia says:

I’m also curious about the parasite. How do you determine that you have this? How do you get rid of it?

  • Lee says:

What about the aluminum in your Mitchem deodorant? I thought that was very harmful.

  • Adel De Weever says:

Where can we find the Beauty Counter’s sunscreen besides amazon? They don’t ship to Canada. Does anyone know? I checked Vita cost but they don’t have it.

What oil do you recommend for frying the cheese sticks?

  • Cheryl says:

Your vacation pics look awesome.Great snapshots of precious family moments.

Question: what is stringy cheese? Not sure what the equivalent would be in Australia

I love the work you do maria and craig! Healing has definitely been a process for me as well. Years of damage doesnt disappear over night. Because of your books I took a hard look at all my personal care items. Most of the items you recommend are so expensive though. For example, The Honest company sells shampoo/body wash for 9.95 and it’s EWG rating is a 1. So for people who can’t afford the products you recommend, do your research. I have found a lot of good stuff on amazon as well. Safe and effective doesn’t have to be costly.

Some of their products rate 3 (yellow) on the cosmetics database so be careful what you choose. That is why I love this brand. Every product is in the green. Plus you support this website by buying the Beautycounter products from me. Thanks! 🙂

I like using the Chagrin Valley Soap & Salve products. Everything is natural and most is organic. They have shampoo bars that you use instead of a liquid shampoo and you can use the same bar for your body. I use those and their lip balm and their shea butter creams. They have baby and pet products too. They don’t have sunscreen (yet, anyway) but they do have bug repellants if interested in that as well. The prices are good too. I just wanted to throw that in 🙂

      • Angela says:

Yeah I just checked the EWG, however, out of their 221 products, only 7 are yellow (3). Everything else is green and the products I use are all green. 🙂

  • Shan says:

I have been using Face Naturals organic products including their cream deodorant, facial cleansers, and lotions for the past few years. They cost more but are well worth it. The peppermint deodorant works well even during our hot and humid summers here in Florida.

  • Vavi says:

Hi Maria! Is your webinar going to be available as a replay if we purchase it? I’d really been looking forward to it but we have a bbq that afternoon!

  • Angela says:

I have been using Kiss My Face toothpaste and it is very effective and never tried Tom’s of Maine. The Kiss My Face toothpaste I use is in the green just like Tom’s of Maine but I’m wondering how well it works since I’ve never tried it. I’ve looked at reviews of many natural toothpastes and it seems a lot don’t work as well as the chemical filled ones but my Kiss My Face works well. Does Tom’s of Maine work well (and I don’t want Flouride)?

  • Angela says:

OH forgot to add, a really great toothpaste for babies and kids that is zero on the EWG is Jack N Jill’s. It is wonderful stuff and tastes spectacular!

  • Janet t says:

maria, I bought the shampoo and conditioner through your links.. I was hoping it would be good AND…. IT IS!!!!! it is fabulous…. a small amount for my hair lathers so nice, the smell is awesome and my hair is happy with it the conditioner is just right too for my long straight hair. awesome stuff, I will definitely order again. thanks…. maria for researching and getting this info to us. I don’t have time for that all the time. thanks again. it feels just like I am shampooing again, except this time with healthy stuff.

  • Laura says:

Everyone has parasites. Remember hearing about or seeing people drink castor oil every week? That was for parasites and probably other things but it is a common “treatment” for parasites in other countries as well, and used to be in ours. As a country we don’t treat for them anymore but the Amish do on a regular basis and I’ve noticed friends from other countries doing it also. If you breathe, have animals, walk barefooted, eat seafood, meat or fruits and veggies, you have them and eating sugar only makes them stronger. It’s a part of life like bacteria, it’s natural- but not treating for them for some reason has gone out of favor. I don’t understand why but its worth researching.

  • Debbie says:

hi Marie, can you explain how cheese strings are healthy please. I thought they were really bad for you?

  • Vicky says:

    Hi Maria,

I have thought about making these from string cheese and then I saw your recipe! But do you think these would work if baked rather than fried? Or would that be not enough heat and not fast enough (i.e. a gooey mess). I’m not afraid of the fat– I just don’t like deep frying because it’s messy and disposing of/using up the extra oil is a pain.

  • Jen says:

Do you ever use or recommend a specific deep fryer? Also, if using coconut oil do you know if it can be strained and reused? Maybe that’s gross….. I don’t know.

  • Andrea says:

When you post the net carbs, is that for the entire batch of mozzarella sticks? Or is that for just one?

  • Beverly says:

Can I bake these cheese sticks? I’m just not a big fan of frying.

  • Kat says:

How long and what temp would you bake these for?

  • Penny says:

Have you tried an Air Fryer?
