Testimonies of the day from 2 phone clients!
“I’ve lost two more lbs for a total of 9 in 9 days. I’m thrilled! Is that typical? i know all bodies are a bit different.” -Gina
“Maria, I woke up this morning 10 pounds lighter than I was when we had our phone consult! The rash on my face has cleared, sleep is getting better, anxiety is almost zero. I am loving my new way of life! Thank you!” Tam
It is Saturday morning and we all know what that means! Cartoons and donuts! Just kidding, but if you are craving a little piece of childhood, try this recipe.
2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp Celtic sea salt
4 TBS vanilla almond milk
1 egg
1/8 cup
Swerve (or Erythritol and a few drops of stevia glycerite)
Coconut oil or Ghee (for frying)
Mix topping ingredients and set aside. Whisk dry ingredients together. Whisk egg with other wet ingredients, add to dry ingredients, and whisk to combine well. Fill a donut skillet, cast-iron pan, or Dutch oven with oil and heat. When oil reaches around 350 to 360 F, drop batter into the oil. The batter will spread and puff up. When the underside browns, flip. In another 30 to 45 seconds, it will be ready to remove. Be sure enjoy them ASAP, as they will lose their crisp if they sit too long. Cut a hole with a knife through the middle and fill with custard. Sprinkle with Swerve and cinnamon.
Nutritional Info: Makes 12 doughnuts, each about 2½ inches in diameter.
1 donut = 26 calories before frying (then it depends on the oil absorption), less than 1 gram of effective carbs:)
wow I love donuts!!!! So happy you have a heathier kind 🙂
Thanks Jessie!
Just made these for dessert tonight. They are delicious. Thank you so much for all the information and recipes you share! You have made my “diet” so easy!!!
Thanks for the kind words! 🙂
Very nice! I was almost tempted to go out and buy a dutch pancake maker (a donut skillet) – I know myself however and I would have these everyday with something like this! Thanks for taking the time to share your recipes.
Remembering your post on custard recently (1/4/20212), have you thought about filling these with a little of the custard? I’m thinking these with custard filling and some chocolate glaze from your other donut recipes and you’d have Dunkin’ Donuts’ Boston Cream filled donut! I’m thinking I might give it a try…
That sounds awesome! Let me know how they turn out! 🙂
Success! I made your mini donuts above, filled them with your custard (from the custard/tiramisu biscotti post), and frosted them with your chocolate glaze (from your eclair recipe). They’re not terribly pretty (the donuts didn’t stay as puffy, the custard could be a bit thicker), but they tasted really good. Dunkin’ Donuts’ Boston Cream donut is one of my husband’s favorites, and I think this comes pretty close. I’m thinking I can get the family to eat the trials while I work on perfecting them. I emailed you a photo so you can see them.
Awesome, sounds yummy! I would love to see the photos. Thanks!
I sent you a photo via email!
Thanks! I haven’t seen it yet. Did you send it to the craigmaria email address?
Just saw this question. I don’t know if the email ever arrived, but by now I can’t remember what email I used…my apologies if this is a duplicate.
I didn’t. You can send it here: craigmaria at gmail .com
I prefer not to fry a lot of foods. Can these be baked in any way?
May I ask why you don’t like to fry foods?
