Too Many Advertisements

Have you ever gone to look for a recipe on a website or blog and have been bombarded with too many advertisements and pop-ups? I have. It seems as though every website now is plastered with more advertising than helpful information.

Too many advertisements

I get asked all the time to have advertisements on my website and I get offered thousands of dollars a month for it, but you know what? I tried it for a few days and I was horrified to see “healthy” chips and things that I would never recommend for people to eat. I found it so intrusive and it covered up the message I want you to leave my website with.

I ADORE that I now can fast forward commercials on the tv shows I record because right before bed I swear they always show foods like pizza and even though I wasn’t hungry, I wanted pizza after I saw it. I don’t want you to see temping junk food on my website. I want my website to be a safe place to be educated and encouraged on your ketogenic lifestyle. Not tempted by junk.

Also, I only list things I approve of. I don’t support things like the monthly delivery boxes, etc since they often have junk ingredients, flax, etc.

Why am I expressing this? Instead of doing advertisements, Craig and I researched and found healthy foods and products to keep you in ketosis and heal your body from the inside out. Every company we endorse (such as ButcherBox, RealGood Pizza, BeautyCounter) are companies that really care about your health and not only that, they are super kind business owners that we love to support!

Some of the ways you can help support my blog without me having advertisements are:

1. Purchasing BeautyCounter products. Not only are they the healthiest topical products for our skin, they also are lovely and smell amazing. I even pack their sunscreen, lip gloss and shampoo on vacation! Click HERE to order.

Or if you want to start cooking in an Insta Pot, you can find it HERE.

If you are ever looking for something particular on Amazon.com please let me know and I can send you my link!

5. Adapt Bars and Shots and Keto Cereal Mixes! Perfect for the on-the-go college student or athlete looking for an easy snack! Click HERE to order.

  • Love to support you! I always get adult bars. But what about keto OS? Do you still endorsing that? What do you think about it and weight loss, athletic performance, or a college kid lifestyle?

I love all the thing Maria recommends!!!
The pizza has stolen my heart. That is saying so much as I think I was eating it in the womb :-). Kettle and fire..can’t live without.
I bought the install (didn’t use yet). Own every cookbook she wrote. I’m a regular customer of primal kitchen, adapt products and chocoperfection.!!
    What more can I say?
The best part:. She’s already done the homework!

Is there a way to put in some link so you get credit for any kind of healthy foods we buy online?
I know when you helped me with a supplement plan, I ordered off of that link for those products. I’m not very good with knowing how to link to you to help you in other ways. But I am happy to help in any way I can 🙂

      Thanks Donna!

Any product with my affiliate helps!

Also if you need anything from amazon let me know and I’ll send you a special link❤

can you explain the concept of the instapot? How is it different than a crock pot?

    • Kathleen says:

It’s a pressure cooker as well as a slow cooker. I’ve had one for a few months and absolutely love it!

    • BGail says:

The instant pot makes perfectly “boiled” eggs (bonus: my husband took the shell off in one piece! I haven’t been that skilled, but they are the easiest to peel eggs I’ve ever made!). It also steams vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower without getting them soggy. I still need to try more things, but there are many suggestions online and my friends joined facebook groups that share recipes.

    • Maria Emmerich says:

It is a pressure cooker. Cooks in about 30 minutes 😍

      • Kate says:

Yes! It’s amazing. I have now cooked Boston Butt pork roasts and several beef chuck roasts, and the Insta-pot cooks them to perfection. I promise you, this is something entirely new for me. I hadn’t made a really great roast literally in decades. Epic fails over and over again until I found the Insta-pot. You can cook a 3-pound Boston Butt into fork-tenderness in 50 minutes! It is incredibly versatile.

      • Pam says:

So I could replace my crockpot with the instapot? The liner in my crockpot is cracked (which I use a lot) and now I’m thinking I’ll get an instapot instead.

  • Janet Johnson says:

Yes and thank you! Not only are the ads all over the page they often come up at the bottom of each photo. I want bloggers to succeed and I don’t mind some ads, but it has gotten ridiculous lately. I appreciate your integrity and not inundating us with ads for unhealthy foods! Or too many of any kind of ad!

  • Wenchypoo says:

When my blog was still alive, I, too, was bombarded with ad requests from companies who wanted to advertise things that were totally inappropriate. For example, when I wrote an article about an aspect of frugal living, gold advertisers were coming out of the woodwork. When i wrote an article about D-I-Y protection from ID thieves and how it starts in the trashcan, here comes Lifelock. When i wrote an article about the so-called “green-ness” of hybrid cars and how they actually take 14 barrels of oil to produce, along come solar panel companies, oil futures dealers, and Toyota, of all people. Every one was turned away.

Yeah, my blog looked a little plain, sparse, and boring without all the ads, but at least I could sleep at night!

I would so much order from your sites if I could! Most of your companies don’t ship to Canada and those that do charge so much for shipping it’s outrageous. I wish there was a way to make the shipping costs lover. Vitacost ships to Canada for $9.99 Which is doable, but they don’t sell a lot of items you recommend, so sad.
