Keto Comfort Foods Video
I am very excited that Costco has had such success with my keto cookbooks that they are carrying Keto Comfort Foods in Costco stores across the United States!
When I wrote the cookbook Keto Comfort Foods, I thought about food and how emotional it can be. I was reminded of the time when I had the great pleasure to travel to New Orleans for business in 2011 and the wonderful people from Swerve took me out to eat at an amazing restaurant on Bourbon Street called Antoine’s. Our group was seated not in the main dining area, but in a haunted private dining room! I had the étouffée, on which my Crawfish Étouffée recipe (page 246) is based. The kitchen staff also prepared special Swerve-sweetened sugar-free desserts for our table. A lot of the people I was dining with were locals. They asked me how I stay keto and said that it is extremely difficult in New Orleans because the local motto is “live to eat,” not “eat to live,” which I found quite interesting.
We’re often told to regard food as fuel and nothing else, but food is more than that. Even at the young age of two and a half, my son demonstrated how food is more than just nourishment. He would jump into his booster chair, buckle in, and start to sing. It wasn’t because he was getting chicken nuggets, boxed macaroni and cheese, or a bowl of ice cream. In one video I have of him, I was making my Meatballs with Brown Gravy (page 216), and he was singing at the top of his lungs simply because it was mealtime. Food is pleasure, food is love. Food should also be nourishing, and that’s why I was so excited to write this book. It is filled with pleasure, love, and nourishing foods.
It isn’t a bad thing to enjoy comforting food. My goal is for you to fall in love with ketogenic foods so that you can not only nourish your soul but also
nourish your body. I have had the pleasure of writing numerous cookbooks, and I will never be able to pick a favorite; however, I think Keto Comfort Foods book was the most fun to write. I really enjoyed reminiscing about my favorite comfort foods from my former unhealthy diet and pondering how to recreate such favorites as Bomba Burgers and Death by Chocolate Cheesecake as keto foods. Keto Comfort Foods cookbook is filled with amazing recipes that will make you feel satisfied on your ketogenic journey. Keto isn’t a diet to me or my family; it is a way of life. We enjoy feeling this amazing, so we never want to veer away from ketogenic foods.

I have been doing keto for 6 months and have been successful in losing about 40 lbs. I also feel great. All of my recipes came from the internet and were free. I came across a video of Maria making biscuits. They looked and sounded so good. I thought long and hard about purchasing the “Keto Comfort Foods ” cook book, but I must say I am so glad I bought it. The recipes are very good. They surpass any freebe I picked up on line. Well worth the price! Thanks Maria
Thanks!
Absolutely love the “Comfort Foods” book and the “Restaurant Favourites” also; over the years I have bought cookbooks and used 2 at the most 3 recipes from each cook book but your BOOKS are DIFFERENT I use them daily picking my meal for the day and I have gifted the Comfort Foods to 2 friends who just love it. Patiently waiting for December to receive my Instant Pot cookbook. Keep up the wonderful books it keeps me staying faithful to the Keto Lifestyle. Hope Costco Canada eventually carries your books. Sincerely Anne
Thanks!
So happy for your success!
Thanks!
Yes, Maria, your recipe books are over the top wonderful.
Creative.
Delicious.
With the “right” amount of sweetness to the sweet recipes. Not diet tasting at all.
I always serve Keto to guests…after all it is real food.
However, the number of servings inside the pages do all your books are all over the map… As a single person, I would love it if your books featured recipes that contain servings for ONE or TWO… with the ability to double and triple the ingredients to serve company. Alternatively, if all recipes served four (due to the fact that your family has four members) we could halve the quantities to serve two. Eat one meal with one left for later. Also, could you state… Just how large is a serving? A cup? A cup and a half? Etc.
And it would be great if your books were on sale at Costco Canada, too…full price book stores are all I have. When I pay full price for every book….who gets that much higher full price? The bookstore or you?
Your books with tax top $50 and more.

Thanks! It doesn’t matter with the publisher books like this where it is purchased. I get the same royalty. 🙂
Just like your son I am singing your praises at dinner for all of your cookbooks. Through the years my weight has inched upwards. At 64 my doctor told me to lose 25 pounds and reduce my high inflammation markers. I thought I had tried everything with little or no success. Then I found Keto and a year later I am 30 pounds lighter and my doctor is thrilled with all of my numbers. I couldn’t have done it without your wonderful cookbooks. I have passed on some of my favorite recipes to my friends and now they are hooked. This is my new way of life. Thank you!
