Many times people look at my recipes and get nervous because they see ingredients they have never heard of. I was like that at one time too! Coconut Aminos? Huh? What is that? You may get frustrated and never try a recipe with that in it. But you know what? Knowledge is POWER!

I didn’t know what Coconut Aminos were until I realized that soy sauce most often has wheat in it AND how bad soy is for our health.

Coconut Aminos are also a great soy sauce replacement. This tasty soy-free sauce contains 17 amino acids and has the flavor profile of a traditional soy sauce. It is made solely from raw coconut tree sap and sun-dried sea salt, which is then naturally aged.

Not only does it have 17 amino acids, it also is filled with, minerals, vitamin C, B vitamins, and has a virtually a neutral PH. Conventional soy sauces on the market are made with non-organic, genetically modified (GMO) soybeans. Long term use of unfermented soy-related products has led to an increase in soy allergies, a disruption in proper thyroid function, and an overload of estrogens in the body.
