Are you aware that most store bought jerky has wheat in it? Yep, the meat is often marinaded in soy sauce which has gluten. Not only that, but most store-bought is not made from grass-fed beef.

But look no further, Sophia’s Survival Foods has created the most delicious jerky! No really, when my son Micah took his first bite he stated, “Oh, that’s delicious!” I love it when he says that.

Would you like to try this tasty jerky? Sophia’s Survival Food has offered to do a giveaway for my keto friends!

All you have to do is 3 things:

1. “Like” Keto Adapted on Facebook and share Keto Adapted with your friends and family!

2. “Like” Sophia’s Survival Food on Facebook.

3. Leave a comment below on what your new healthy habit is this month (some ideas are: trying a new recipe, eating less sugar, exercising, trying yoga, cleaning out your pantry, using healthy topical products and make-up)! Bonus points if you post a photo on Keto Adapted Facebook wall!

A winner will be picked May 12th. Good Luck!

    Maria:

I was just diagnosed with Trigeminal neuralgia, not the TMJ everyone (doctors and dentists included) told me I had. According to the Mayo clinic web site there are both Nutritional and Vitamin therapies that may help. Please know that I have been following your plan for 18 months now with tremendous success and found your Menopause protocol to be a life saver. I am currently still following that supplement recommendation.
My physician prescribed Lyrica, but I wondered if there was something else I could be doing to mange the pain and reduce the occurrence. Thank you for your help.

    • Maria Emmerich says:

Can you message me here and I can send you some recommendations. 🙂

    • Nikki says:

This makes me want to cry! I’ve had TN for almost 8 years (started Memorial Day 2007) and I had to diagnose myself. Everyone also thought it was TMJ. I’m just getting over a 1 1/2 month long severe flare-up. I need help! No drugs work for me and I don’t like to take drugs anyway. The TN that I get is exacerbated by anxiety and stress. When I can manage those, I have no pain, but I find managing those pretty challenging. I’m a 45 yo mom with 2 beautiful girls, 10 and 4 and I hate not being able to function for them.

  • Antonia says:

OH my god, yes!! FINALLY a beef jerky without maple syrup or agave in it!! I’ve been looking for this FOREVER! Thanks for sharing! Guess my goal for this month is to eat all the jerky haha 😉

  • Heidi says:

back to routine of exercise and cutting all sugar from household!

  • My new healthy habit? Hmm…to give up avocado(too much fiber) or cheese/sour cream For this month. which should I choose, Maria? 🙂

Also, abot the soy–when is it appropriate to eat soy? Is fermented an exception?

    • Maria Emmerich says:

If it is non-GMO soy, fermented is the best option. But it still has estrogenic effects so personally I avoid all soy.

  • Cinthia says:

Try to stay away from sugar as much as I can !!! =)

  • John S. says:

    Further refine my workout routine.

  • Cynthia says:

Eating no sugar, no processed foods, and concentrating on eating meals, no snacks. Eating healthy fats, small amounts of protein, and veggies. Cleaning out the cupboards and condiments of anything not on good. This has been an ongoing process and I am feeling great!

  • Mary says:

I know I need to give up my red wine :-(. But so far I haven’t quite been able to do it

  • Ramie says:

Trying to stay away from the easter candy my kids got.

  • Cynthia says:

I just started doing hiit 4 mornings a week. I normally lift about 4 times a week, because I’ve felt that cardio is a little over preached, and unless I’m playing a sport, I don’t think it’s near as important as the average person is lead to believe. However, as of late I’ve been a little less energetic and I don’t feel that I’m really pushing myself. So, I got a buddy to meet up with me a few mornings a week and do some crazy burpees/sprinting/ anything else that makes you want to put yourself out of your misery 😛
    So far, so fun. 🙂

  • Stacey says:

I plan to continue to refine this new way of eating, getting healthy for hiking in Alaska in June!

  • lisa says:

    More exercise

  • Leah Wright says:

My goal this month is to continue on my Ketoventure, learn more keto-friendly recipes, and kick up my workouts. 🙂

  • krickt says:

I used to love jerky. Such an easy way to get something in my stomach when everyone else around me was pigging out on chips and candy. Then the celiac showed up and I haven’t had it since! This would be great!
My newest healthy habit is to not accept guilt or dirty looks when I don’t eat in social situations. I’m done with feeling bad emotionally about keeping up a lifestyle that makes my body run so much better and isn’t hurting anybody.

My new healthy habit…some of the other ballet moms and I decided we would walk while together while our daughters are at their ballet lesson (instead of sitting around chatting or looking at our phones). We did it last night and got it 4300+ steps — a much better use of our time and we can still enjoy each other’s company as we walk!

  • Lori says:

I love jerky i even bought my friend a dehydrater hoping I’d reap the benefits. Two years not an ounce. I think its still in the box. Would love a clean sf source.

    I want to try yoga!!!

  • Maria Fluegel says:

My new healthy habit this month has been to pre-make snack bags as soon as I come home from the grocery store. This way I won’t be / haven’t been tempted grab a snack from the vending machine at work or get fast food on the way home from work bc I’m tired & hungry.

  • Penny B says:

Trying yet again to reduce my sugar intake — VERY hard to do! Maybe these will help!

  • Melody says:

My May healthy habit is to get back to exercising regularly and get back on the keto wagon. I did really well before Christmas, but since then I’m only half following it. I’ve had some good days and bad days, but I haven’t been disciplined to get back to where I am not craving junk at night. I also need to get disciplined enough to make meals, rather than just try to grab the first thing that seems to catch my eye.

  • Jenny says:

Eating less sugar is my goal this month.
