Lakanto Sweetener

Lakanto Sweetener

The other day my husband saw someone post about sugar free Lakanto Syrup and said that he wanted to try it. I thought it might be another option on those days we are in a rush and I don’t have time to make my own syrup. It is so amazing on my zero-carb keto pancakes that I want you to be able to try it too! The syrup taste the best of any I have tried and it has 4g carbs (3g fiber) for 2 tablespoons. So even less calories and carbs than the xylitol maple syrups you have seen me post about. They are sweetened with monk fruit and erythritol and taste great!

Lakanto was so generous, they offered to donate not only syrup but also a WHOLE BUNCH of yummy sugar free chocolate bars, their classic sweetener as well as their golden sweetener made with monkfruit. The candy bars are also sweetened with erythritol and monk fruit which gives a really natural tasting sweetness.

I’ve been using Lakanto for FOUR YEARS!! I used to buy it through Donna Gates website – it is THE BEST stuff! The golden one tastes more like brown sugar and the white is a perfect replacement. We’ve been using the maple syrup since they came out with it about a year ago and my kids LOVE the hot chocolate and the bars! The matcha latte is also fantastic!
Maria – I use this product for ALL of your sweets recipes that call for Swerve – I powder it in my vitamix for the confectioners recipes! Maybe you can convince them over there to make a confectioners version!!! YAY! I’m so glad you discovered them, it is such a great company!

    • Deidre says:

I also love the Lakanto products. It tastes so much better than Swerve, Trulia etc. I love that there is no icky after taste and cooling. I wrote to the company to inquire about a confectioner’s sugar. They informed me that they are working on it and hopefully soon will have it on the market. They also advised as Jennifer stated so smartly …powder it in the blender.

  • Dana says:

I cannot wait to get my paws on some Lakanto drinking chocolate and 55% cacao bars. Of course, crushing a Lakanto chocolate almond bar over Maria’s life-affirming Butterscotch Mousse, or to adding Lakanto drinking chocolate (dry) to Maria’s Malted Milk Ball Truffles, would be easy dessert ideas. I most want my paws on the Lakanto chocolate to play with Maria’s savory dishes, though! Adding Lakanto drinking chocolate (dry) would play real nice with her tailgate chili, bone marrow chili and Ethiopian stew. The mole sauce Maria created for her Mole Short Ribs, stew and ragu would get Lakanto 55% cacao chocolate shaved into it. That intense mole would then be layered into her skillet enchilada casserole and added to her carnitas, for example. In short, Lakanto chocolate + Maria Emmerich’s complex SAVORY recipes inspire creativity!

I would love to try this syrup, but not sure because according to Lakanto the vegetable fiber is derived from non GMO corn and/or tapioca. Could this be a problem? Or am I overreacting on these things?

Could try out some new combinations then!

  • Deidre says:

I left a reply yesterday but I guess my comment was removed. I hope I haven’t offended. I love all of the Lankanto products. I use it for all of my ketogenic recipes. It can be used one to one but I usually use a little less as I do not like my things so sweet anymore. Great in cakes, cookies, pancakes, lemonade…the list goes on. I have reached out to the company in regards to a confectioners sugar to which they replied that they are in the process of bringing one to market. They also said that as one of the other readers mentioned…..just put the classic in the blender and viola you have confectioners sugar. It makes great icing as well.

  • Debi (Knowles) Browell says:

Oh my gosh! I’m so torn. Way too many choices. Since I’m just starting the cleanse I am going with two from the cleanse cookbook. First, Vanilla Bean Bread Pudding with Vanilla Bean Cream Anglaise because I know Im going to struggle without my mom’s Bread Pudding Recipe, so really looking forward to trying an alternative. Second, Lava Cake with Mocha Ice Cream not just because it sounds so yummy but also as a way to further entice my daughter to be more open minded herself about a healthier WOE. Chocolate Lava Cake is her absolute, must have, go to favorite dessert. Cant wait to try them and so many others.

What an awesome give away! I would love to be considered. Thanks for all you do to help people transform their lives by living a much healthier, happier life style! 🙂

My 20 year old son was told by his Nephrologist to … well , simply put eat as if he had diabetes. He is prediabetic … his birth mom’s father had passed from complications from diabetes, her mother had already lost a limb and her sisters were also diabetic. He is on his summer break, coming back to see his girlfriend (and me, of course…for food 🙂 ) He has a big sweet tooth but his most favorite meal is Pancakes!!!! I know that is not really a ‘dessert’ but that will be the first thing I make should I win!!!!
